Delegation Members and Staff

From 9-12 July 2024, Bryan May, M.P., attended the Council of State Governments (CSG) Western Annual Meeting in Portland, Oregon on behalf of the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group.

Objectives of the Canada–United States Inter-Parliamentary Group

The Group aims to find points of convergence in respective national policies, to initiate dialogue on points of divergence, to encourage the exchange of information and to promote better understanding among legislators on shared issues of concern. Members of the Group’s Canadian Section meet regularly with their U.S. federal counterparts and attend meetings of state governors and legislators.

Conference Activities

The 2024 CSG Western Annual Meeting offered numerous panel sessions about different public policy issues affecting the United States and Canada, as well as leadership workshops to provide attendees with skills development training. Topics of the sessions included the housing affordability crisis, collaboration among state legislatures, artificial intelligence, decarbonization, clean energy, food security, healthcare, right to repair legislation, Canada-U.S. relations, the wildfire crisis and elections security.
