Visit to Canada of His Excellency Kim Kielsen, President of the Parliament of Greenland (Inatsisartut)
On June 8 and 9, 2026, His Excellency Kim Kielsen, President of Inatsisartut, conducted a working visit to Ottawa. He was accompanied by Steen Lynge, Director of the Bureau of Inatsisartut; Inga Olsen Ratzow, Committee Secretary; and Ole Henrich, Interpreter.
During the visit, the delegation was also accompanied His Excellency Nikolaj Harris, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Canada, and Jacob Isbosethsen, Head of Greenland’s Representation to the US and Canada in Washington, D.C.
In Ottawa, the delegation met with:
- The Honourable Raymonde Gagné, C.M., O.M., Speaker of the Senate;
- The Honourable Francis Scarpaleggia, M.P., Speaker of the House of Commons;
- Members of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International; and
- Members of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs.
As part of this visit, the delegation also had meetings with Lori Idlout, M.P., and Natan Obed, President of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami.
The working visit provided an opportunity to discuss opportunities for increased collaboration between Greenland and Canada as well as shared priorities with regards to arctic and indigenous affairs.
