Section 5 of the Royal Assent Act, S.C. 2002, c. 15, states: “Where royal assent is signified by written declaration, the Act is deemed to be assented to on the day on which the two Houses of Parliament have been notified of the declaration.”
Pursuant to Order made by the House of Commons on February 10, 2004, the Bill was deemed approved at all stages completed in the previous session (previously Bill C-56 in the 2nd Session of the 37th Parliament).
