SOMMAIRE
Le texte modifie la Loi sur le ministère de l’Agriculture et de l’Agroalimentaire afin d’établir un comité consultatif pour la recherche de l’excellence en matière d’innovation en agriculture.
SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Agriculture and Agri-Food Act to establish an advisory committee for the pursuit of excellence in agricultural innovation.

1 La Loi sur le ministère de l’Agriculture et de l’Agroalimentaire est modifiée par adjonction, après l’article 5.1, de ce qui suit :
1 The Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food Act is amended by adding the following after section 5.1:

Advisory committee
6 (1) Est constitué le comité consultatif pour la recherche de l’excellence en matière d’innovation en agriculture, lequel est composé des personnes nommées par le ministre, dont des représentants :
a) des secteurs de l’agriculture et de l’agroalimentaire;
b) des milieux universitaire et scientifique;
c) des provinces;
d) du ministère.
Fin du bloc inséré6 (1) An advisory committee for the pursuit of excellence in agricultural innovation is established, composed of persons appointed by the Minister, including representatives from:
(a) the agriculture and agri-food sectors;
(b) the academic and scientific communities;
(c) the provinces; and
(d) the Department.

(2) Le comité conseille le ministre sur toute question qui relève de ce dernier. Il fait office de centre d’excellence visant l’innovation dans les secteurs de l’agriculture et de l’agroalimentaire, notamment dans les domaines de l’intelligence artificielle et de la robotique.
Fin du bloc inséré(2) The role of the advisory committee is to advise the Minister on any matters within the mandate of the Minister by acting as a centre of excellence for the pursuit of innovation in the agriculture and agri-food sectors, including in the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics.

(3) Chaque année, le comité tient au moins deux de ses réunions à l’extérieur de la région de la capitale nationale.

No remuneration
(4) Les personnes nommées par le ministre en vertu du paragraphe (1) n’ont droit à aucune rémunération.
