CANADA–U.S. INTER-PARLIAMENTARY GROUP TO MEET WITH MEMBERS OF THE U.S. SENATE AND HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

The Canadian Section of the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group (IPG), will host the 56th Annual Meeting of the Canada-United States IPG in Ottawa, ON, June 15-17, 2018.

Co-Chaired by Senator Michael L. MacDonald, and the Honourable Wayne Easter, P.C., M.P., the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group aims to find points of convergence in our respective national policies, initiate dialogue on points of divergence, encourage the exchange of information, and promote better understanding between Canadian and American legislators on shared issues of concern. Additional information on the Group can be found at Canada-US IPG.

At the Annual meeting, delegates from the Canadian Parliament and the U.S. Congress will discuss and seek to find possible solutions to a variety of bilateral and multilateral issues of concern to both countries. Discussion topics will include economic and financial cooperation; security and defence cooperation; and environmental cooperation.
