SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Canada Pension Plan and the Old Age Security Act to provide that any benefits that are required to be paid on a periodic basis under those Acts shall, on the request of the beneficiary, be paid on a biweekly basis.

An Act to amend the Canada Pension Plan and the Old Age Security Act (biweekly payment of benefits)
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
R.S., c. C-8
CANADA PENSION PLAN
1. The Canada Pension Plan is amended by adding the following after section 66.1:
Payment of benefits
66.2 Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, any benefits that are required to be paid on a periodic basis under this Act shall be paid on a biweekly basis if the beneficiary submits to the Minister a written request that the benefits be paid on a biweekly basis.

OLD AGE SECURITY ACT
2. The Old Age Security Act is amended by adding the following after section 37:
Payment of benefits
37.1 Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, any benefits that are required to be paid on a periodic basis under this Act shall be paid on a biweekly basis if the beneficiary submits to the Minister a written request that the benefits be paid on a biweekly basis.
