Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

1. The Bank Act is amended by adding the following after section 448:

Automated banking machine charges
|
|
448.01 A bank shall not make a charge, to its customers or to the public, for the electronic transfer of funds or the communication of account information through the use of an automated banking machine, whether the machine is owned or operated by the bank or by another person.
|

448.01 La banque ne peut réclamer de frais, à ses clients ou au public, pour les virements électroniques de fonds ou la communication de renseignements sur les comptes effectués grâce à des guichets automatiques, que ceux-ci appartiennent à la banque ou à une autre personne ou soient exploités par l'une ou l'autre.
