SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Citizenship Act to add an exception to the rule of inapplicability after the first generation in relation to persons employed outside Canada.

An Act to amend the Citizenship Act (exception to the rule of inapplicability after the first generation)
R.S., c. C-29
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
1. Section 3 of the Citizenship Act is amended by adding the following after subsection (5):
Exception — certain organizations
(5.1) Subsection (3) does not apply to a person if one or both of the person’s parents, as provided for in that subsection, were, at the time of the person’s birth or adoption, employed outside Canada by the United Nations or its bodies, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the World Trade Organization or a civil society organization within the meaning of section 3 of the Official Development Assistance Accountability Act.
