SUMMARY
This enactment provides that an existing agreement for the transfer of certain assets and operations from the Canadian aerospace company MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Limited to the United States corporation Alliant Techsystems Incorporated, and any future agreement between the same parties for a similar purpose, is of no effect unless it is approved by both Houses of Parliament.

An Act to prohibit the transfer of certain assets and operations from MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Limited to Alliant Techsystems Incorporated
WHEREAS the Parliament of Canada is of the opinion that the transfer of certain assets and operations of the Canadian aerospace company MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Limited to the United States corporation Alliant Techsystems Incorporated would not be in the best interests of Canada and could compromise national security;
NOW, THEREFORE, Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the Canadian Aerospace Technology Protection Act.
Existing agreement of no effect
2. The agreement between MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Limited and Alliant Techsystems Incorporated that was entered into in January 2008 to transfer certain assets and operations from MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Limited to Alliant Techsystems Incorporated as described in the application made by Alliant Techsystems Incorporated under section 17 of the Investment Canada Act shall be of no effect upon the coming into force of this Act. The agreement shall continue to be of no effect unless it is laid before both Houses of Parliament and approved by a majority vote of each House.
Possible future agreements
3. Any agreement for a similar purpose as the agreement referred to in section 2 that may be entered into by MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Limited and Alliant Techsystems Incorporated shall be of no effect unless it is laid before both Houses of Parliament and approved by a majority vote of each House.
