SUMMARY |

This enactment amends the Canadian Human Rights Act to specify
that it is a discriminatory practice to deny an individual access to goods,
services, facilities or accommodation that are customarily available to
the general public by prohibiting the entry of the individual's assistance
dog into any area where such goods, services, facilities or
accommodation are accessible.

|
|
The enactment further amends the Act to specify that it is a
discriminatory practice to deny the trainer of a dog that is being trained
to be an assistance dog access to any such area by prohibiting the entry
of the dog into the area. It also amends the Act to specify that it is a
discriminatory practice to deny an individual occupancy of residential
or commercial premises because that individual uses an assistance dog.
