Meeting No. 1

April 20, 2022


The Subcommittee on the Review of Parliament’s involvement with Associations and Recognized Interparliamentary Groups of the Joint Interparliamentary Council met this day in camera at 1:01 p.m., in a virtual format, for the purpose of electing Co-Chairs.

Representing the Senate: Hon. Dennis Dawson and Hon. Raymonde Saint-Germain.

Representing the House of Commons: Marilène Gill, Lindsay Mathyssen, Lianne Rood, Marc Serré for Ruby Sahota.

1. Election of Co-Chairs:

The Clerk presided over the election of the Co-Chairs.

On motion of the Hon. Dennis Dawson, it was agreed, — That Lianne Rood be elected House of Commons Co-Chair of the Subcommittee.

On motion of Lianne Rood, it was agreed, — That Hon. Dennis Dawson be elected Senate Co-Chair of the Subcommittee. Hon. Dennis Dawson took the Chair.

Hon. Dennis Dawson took the Chair.


2. Subcommittee business:

The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.

The Clerk provided a briefing on the Subcommittee’s mandate and its previous five-year reviews.

It was agreed, — That meetings be organized according to the themes in the Subcommittee’s mandate and that the Clerk prepare a workplan for upcoming meetings.


At 1:38 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Co-Chairs.
