Chile’s Minister of Women and Gender Equality to meet with Canadian parliamentarians

OTTAWA – On November 1st, 2018, the Honourable Bob Nault, P.C., M.P., President of ParlAmericas International and Chair of the Canadian Section of ParlAmericas, will lead Canadian parliamentarians in a meeting with Ms. Isabel Plá, Chile’s Minister of Women and Gender Equality, who is responsible for addressing all forms of gender discrimination in Chile.

“My colleagues and I are looking forward to learning about Chile’s perspective on ways in which to achieve gender equality,” stated Mr. Nault. “Canada and Chile share similar values, and this meeting will allow us to compare best practices and challenges as they relate to the promotion of women’s rights.”

Founded in 2001 in Ottawa, ParlAmericas is the only interparliamentary institution with its International Secretariat headquartered in Canada. The Canadian Section of ParlAmericas has always worked closely with the Secretariat to advance parliamentary diplomacy and political dialogue throughout the Americas and the Caribbean.
