SUMMARYThis enactment amends the Pest Control Products Act to prohibit the manufacturing, possession, handling, storage, transportation, importation, distribution or use of glyphosate.

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:2002, c. 28Pest Control Products ActAmendment to the Act

1Section 6 of the Pest Control Products Act is amended by adding the following after subsection (1):Glyphosate(1.1)No person shall manufacture, possess, handle, store, transport, import, distribute or use glyphosate as a pest control product.

Transitional Provision

Registration cancelled2The registration of products containing glyphosate under the Pest Control Products Act is cancelled.

Coming into Force

First anniversary3Section 1 comes into force on the first anniversary of the day on which this Act receives royal assent.
