Employment Insurance Act1. Section 8 of the Employment Insurance Act is amended by adding the following after subsection (1): Labour dispute
(1.1) In determining the qualifying period for the purposes of subsection (1), any days during which there was a stoppage of work attributable to a labour dispute shall not be included.2. Section 10 of the Act is amended by adding the following after section (1):Labour dispute
(1.1) For the purposes of subsection (1), in the case of a stoppage of work attributable to a labour dispute, the interruption of earnings is deemed to have occurred on the day of the complete severance of the insured person's relationship with their former employer if, between the stoppage of work and the day of the severance, no earnings were paid by the employer.Coming Into ForceComing into force
