WHEREAS Sir John Alexander Macdonald was born on January 11, 1815;AND WHEREAS he was one of the founders of Confederation;AND WHEREAS he was the first Prime Minister of Canada;NOW, THEREFORE, Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:Short TitleShort title
1. This Act may be cited as the Sir John A. Macdonald Day Act.Sir John A. Macdonald DaySir John A. Macdonald Day
2. Throughout Canada, in each and every year, the 11th day of January shall be known under the name of “Sir John A. Macdonald Day”.
