Dedication Ceremony of the Stained Glass Window commemorating
in Parliament the Legacy of Indian Residential Schools

On November 26, 2012, the Honourable John Duncan, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development, presented to the Honourable Andrew Scheer, Speaker of the House of Commons, a stained glass window to commemorate the legacy of Indian residential schools. This stained glass window honours the First Nations, Inuit and Métis children who attended Indian residential schools and the families and communities who were affected by the schools’ legacy. The stained glass window is located at the Members’ entrance in the Centre Block.
