SOMMAIRE

Le texte modifie la Loi sur la tarification de la pollution causée par les gaz à effet de serre afin d’élargir la définition de machinerie agricole admissible et d’inclure le gaz naturel commercialisable et le propane à l’exemption qui s’applique au combustible agricole admissible.

SUMMARY

This enactment amends the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act to expand the definition of eligible farming machinery and extend the exemption for qualifying farming fuel to marketable natural gas and propane.

Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act

1 (1) La définition de machinerie agricole admissible, à l’article 3 de la Loi sur la tarification de la pollution causée par les gaz à effet de serre, est modifiée par adjonction, après l’alinéa b), de ce qui suit :
1 (1) The definition eligible farming machinery in section 3 of the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act is amended by adding the following after paragraph (b):

b.‍1) soit un bien qui sert au chauffage ou au refroidissement d’un bâtiment ou d’une structure semblable, notamment celui ou celle utilisé pour l’élevage ou le logement d’animaux de ferme;
End of inserted block

(b.‍1) property used for the purpose of providing heating or cooling to a building or similar structure, including those used for raising or housing livestock;
End of inserted block
(2) L’alinéa c) de la définition de machinerie agricole admissible, à l’article 3 de la même loi, est remplacé par ce qui suit :
(2) Paragraph (c) of the definition eligible farming machinery in section 3 of the Act is replaced by the following:
c) soit une machine industrielle ou un moteur stationnaire ou portable, Insertion start notamment un séchoir à grain Insertion end ;
(c) an industrial machine or a stationary or portable engine, Insertion start including a grain dryer Insertion end ; or
(3) L’alinéa f) de la définition de machinerie agricole admissible, à l’article 3 de la même loi, est abrogé.
(3) The definition eligible farming machinery in section 3 of the Act is amended by adding “or” at the end of paragraph (e) and by repealing paragraph (f).
(4) La définition de combustible agricole admissible, à l’article 3 de la même loi, est remplacée par ce qui suit :
(4) The definition qualifying farming fuel in section 3 of the Act is replaced by the following:
combustible agricole admissible Type de combustible qui est de l’essence, du mazout léger, Insertion start du gaz naturel commercialisable, du propane Insertion end ou un combustible visé par règlement. (qualifying farming fuel)
qualifying farming fuel means a type of fuel that is gasoline, light fuel oil, Insertion start marketable natural gas, propane Insertion end or a prescribed type of fuel. (combustible agricole admissible)
