SUMMARY
This enactment amends the Criminal Code to enable a person who owns or has lawful possession of property, or persons authorized by them, to arrest within a reasonable time a person whom they find committing a criminal offence on or in relation to that property. It also amends the Criminal Code to simplify the provisions relating to the defences of property and persons.

SOMMAIRE
Le texte modifie le Code criminel afin de permettre au propriétaire d’un bien ou à la personne en ayant la possession légitime, ainsi qu’à toute personne qu’il autorise, d’arrêter dans un délai raisonnable toute personne qu’il trouve en train de commettre une infraction criminelle sur le bien ou relativement à celui-ci. Il modifie aussi le Code criminel afin de simplifier les dispositions relatives à la défense des biens et des personnes.
