An Act to amend the Hazardous Products Act and the Textile Labelling Act (animal fur or skin)
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
R.S., c. H-3
HAZARDOUS PRODUCTS ACT
1. Part I of Schedule I to the Hazardous Products Act is amended by adding the following in numerical order:
43. Products made in whole or in part of dog or cat fur.

TEXTILE LABELLING ACT
2. The definition “consumer textile article” in section 2 of the Textile Labelling Act is amended by striking out “or” at the end of paragraph (a), by adding “or” at the end of paragraph (b) and by adding the following after paragraph (b):
(c) any animal skin from which the hair or fur has not been removed
3. Subparagraph 6(b)(i) of the Act is replaced by the following:
(i) the generic name of each textile fibre,

4. If Bill C-36, introduced in the 3rd session of the 40th Parliament and entitled An Act respecting the safety of consumer products, receives royal assent, then, on the first day on which both section 75 of that Act and section 1 of this Act are in force, Schedule 2 of that Act is amended by adding the following after item 15:
16. Products made in whole or in part of dog or cat fur.
